About

Blake Robertshaw (he/him) is an Oregon-based photographer documenting weddings, elopements, communities, and the changing environment. He was born in the high desert of Eastern Oregon. Always a helper and seeking opportunity he joined the U.S. Coast Guard where he worked around the country piloting motor lifeboats for search and rescue. He now lives in Eugene, Oregon, on the ancestral land of the Kalapuyan people. He has a BA from the University of Oregon and is a commercially licensed pilot.

Blake’s photography is greatly influenced by his unique encounters with humanity as a first responder and by his exploration of nature as an aviator, mariner, and hiker. He responded to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, Hurricane Sandy, Oregon wildfires, and other natural/ humanitarian disasters. These experiences have led to his pursuit of conservation and the co-founding of Knowing Oregon—a place where we can reconnect to humanity and nature through storytelling.

Having witnessed both the joy and suffering of land and people, he’s honed his eye for a heartfelt, sensitive approach to photography—one that embraces life’s interconnectedness, authenticity, and beauty, yet doesn’t shy away from imperfection. In his spare time, Blake focuses on living slowly with his partner, reading, yoga, visiting coffee shops, and volunteering with Team Rubicon.
